Heins Family Farms’ story begins in 1951 when Paul Heins’ parents purchased a farm and began operations with only two cows and a sow. Today, Paul and his wife, Cindy, along with their son Chris, milk 650 Holsteins on 1,400 acres of land in Higginsville, Mo.
Paul focuses on financial management of the farm while Cindy maintains the bookkeeping and herd record-keeping for the dairy. Chris serves as the herd manager.
Over the years, the family made improvements and expanded to accommodate and steadily growing herd. With advancements in farming technology, the Heinses built a new state-of-the-art parlor big enough to hold 1,400 cows in 2009. Read more about the Heinses’ expansion here.
